EXPLANATION:
Reset the Edimax Print Server
Follow this process to reset the Edimax Print Server to its factory default settings. This will eliminate any incorrect
configurat ion settings and ensure that they are not the cause of any setup problems.
This is an important part of the setup procedure, please follow it closely:
1. Power off the Edimax Print Server for 10 seconds.
2. Remove the network and USB cables (if connected) so that only the aerial and power cable are connected.
3. Power on the print server and wait 60 seconds for it to initialise (boot). Ignore any lights that show as
flashing or solid as they are irrelevant at this stage of the configuration.
4. Using a pen, stylus or any other thin-pointed object, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds as shown
in the photos below:
*The adapter will now reset to its factory configuration.
5. Wait 60 seconds for the print server to initialise (boot). When finished only the WLAN light should be
flashing. When this happens move to the next stage of the setup.
6. If the printer server displays any light configuration other than a flashing WLAN then:
a. Power off the print server for 10 seconds.
b. Power on the print server and wait 60 seconds for it to initialise (boot).
c. Check to ensure only the WLAN light is flashing. If not, start this procedure again until the desired
result is achieved.

continue:
3. Read the license agreement and click on Agree to continue:
4. The installation will now begin. Epson Scan, the printer driver and supporting software will be installed. A
progress bar will be displayed throughout the majority of the process. The screenshots below show examples
of this stage of the installation:
5. When prompted by the screen below, connect the USB cable to the printer and computer. Then power on the
product:
6. If the product is recognised the following confirmation screen will be displayed:
7. Once the installation is complete, the finalisation screen is displayed. This confirms that the listed software

14. The screen below shows a progress bar for the print server software installation:
15. The screens below may appear as a firewall warning. If so, it is important that you select the Unblock
option in each case.
a. If the firewall warning does NOT appear, then you must set up an exception rule to ensure that the
relevant programs are not blocked. See this article for instructions on setting Windows Firewall
exceptions, or the "Computer Setting Problem" section of this article for help with antivirus
software firewall exceptions.
b. Consult your software documentation for detailed instructions on how to manage your firewall
settings.

Note: Please note that the screens may vary depending on your version of Windows and/or
third-party software you are running. There is no built-in firewall in Windows 2000.

16. The next screen will identify the print server. If it is not identified click on the Refresh button. Click Next to
continue:
17. You are now presented with two options by which to configure the print server. Select Easy installation
(Recomm ended) then click Next to continue:
18. The software will now search for available wireless networks. If presented with multiple choices select the
network you wish to connect to and then click Next to continue:
19. If the wireless network is configured to use a particular security setting the screen below will allow you to
select the network security type and enter the password. Click Next to continue after entering the relevant
details:
20. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the print server and network access point, then click Next to
continue:
21. The print server will now attempt to connect wirelessly to the network. Once this is successful, you should
see a confirmation screen similar to the one below. Click Next to continue:

22. The print server software installation will now complete. Additional software will be installed, but this will not
affect the print server functionality:
23. Once the full installation is complete, the screen below will be displayed. Click Exit to finish:
24. Once the print server has been successfully installed, you can check that it is connected wirelessly via MFP
Manager. Open MFP Manager by double-clicking on the icon shown below, in the Windows System Tray:
25. MFP Manager should display the name of the print server above a sub-entry with the name of the printer
and a red tick. This signifies a successful connection:
If the screen differs to the above, see MFP Server connection issues - Windows for assistance.
